The opportunity

A forward thinking organisation in the nuclear safety sector who are recruiting skilled Health Physics Monitors to support both routine and non-routine operations, on a permanent staff basis.

You’ll ensure safety compliance across facilities by providing radiological protection advice, conducting surveys, and producing clear, accessible reports.

Working alongside a team of specialists, you’ll play a key role in delivering exceptional health physics support.

Key Responsibilities:

Offer guidance on radiological protection, escalating issues as necessary.
Prepare survey sheets, reports, and presentations to assist management.
Collaborate with advisors and analysts to identify trends and improve EHSS&Q performance.
Deliver proportionate, compliant advice.
Support the implementation of solutions for radiological safety issues.
Participate in training to maintain your Health Physics qualifications.
Provide emergency responses for health physics concerns.
Report any safety issues or concerning behaviours.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:

City and Guilds Level 1 in Radiation Protection or NVQ Level 2 in Radiation Protection.
Proven experience as a Health Physics Monitor in a nuclear environment.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
In-depth knowledge of Ionising Radiation Regulations 2017, Environmental Permitting Regulations (amended) 2011, and the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
Ability to obtain SC level security clearance (requires identity, employment, financial, and criminal record checks, with five years of UK residency).
Desirable Skills:

IOSH Working Safely qualification.
Strong presentation skills and attention to detail.
