Technical Coordinator / Senior Technical Coordinator

We are working with an award winning, luxury residential developer to recruit a Technical Manager / Senior Technical Manager.
As a Technical Manager you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional product designs that align with our core values of innovation, collaboration, and quality. Working across multiple sectors, you’ll lead the design process from concept through to completion, ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standard. You will collaborate with internal teams and external consultants to ensure designs are cost-effective, practical, and meet the company’s reputation for excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Design Leadership:
Lead and deliver the product design function, ensuring designs challenge standards, innovate, and align with the company ethos. Oversee external consultants, managing the design process from inception to completion, and translating the vision into practical, cost-effective solutions.
Project Support & Management:
Assist the Senior Technical Manager by providing timely project support, managing consultant appointments, and overseeing the creation of design documentation, including specifications and technical reports. Ensure all project information is accurate and communicated effectively to the development and construction teams.
Contract and Design Management:
Oversee contract management and the delivery of design packages. Monitor consultant activity to ensure alignment with project timelines and budgets. Approve and manage the coordination of architectural and engineering drawings, ensuring consistency with the design concept.
Problem Solving & Technical Support:
Offer proactive problem-solving and alternative design solutions to construction challenges. Support the Commercial and Build teams with technical queries and manage the resolution of change requests. Ensure compliance with building control and NHBC processes.
Value Engineering:
Identify opportunities for improving buildability and value engineering while maintaining the integrity of the design. Provide constructive feedback on contractor designs and ensure that designs are cost-effective while meeting all technical requirements.
Research & Development:
Contribute to product and market research to support innovation and the continual development of the developers product range. Stay informed on industry trends, product knowledge, and evolving regulations.
Inter-Departmental Collaboration:
Work closely with other departments (e.g., Sales, Marketing, Construction) to ensure the timely delivery of project milestones. Manage the flow of design information to ensure coordination across disciplines. Key Competencies & Skills:

Management Ability:
Ability to lead and motivate teams, manage multiple projects, and prioritize competing demands. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate conflicts and seek solutions.
Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise reports to senior management and project stakeholders.
Financial Management:
Strong understanding of cost control and budget management, with the ability to ensure projects are delivered within financial parameters.
Knowledge & Experience:
A solid understanding of current Building Regulations, NHBC standards, and critical path programme management. A flair for design with experience in creating innovative, practical solutions across various sectors.
Technical Proficiency:
Proficient in project management software, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), and web tools. Experience with planning and scheduling tools is an advantage.
People Management:
Ability to lead by example, support colleagues, and collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
Organisational Skills:
Strong process management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively. Excellent time management and problem-solving capabilities
