Assistant SENCO

Introduction

Qualiteach Yorkshire have partnered with a specialist school in Huddersfield who are looking for a permanent Assistant SENCO to join them.

The school caters for learners from KS2 – KS4 with a range of needs including those with SEMH, Autism and other complex learning difficulties.

Job Title Responsibilities

* To assist in leading the work of the SEND team.

* To assist the SENDCo in leading the provision for SEND within school.

* To manage appropriate resources for Special Needs and Learning Support and ensure that they are used efficiently, effectively and safely.

* To support with curriculum resources to ensure that pupils identified as having SEND have the required levels of support.

* To support the SENDCo in managing the implementation of an intensive curriculum

Job Title Requirements

* Experience working with young people with SEN

* Relevant training and qualifications within education and SEN

* Ability to build rapport with young people disengaged with education

* Understanding of safeguarding and child protection issues

* Ability to manage behaviour through a variety of techniques and strategies
