Are you a passionate educator looking to make a difference in the lives of students with Special Educational Needs? GSL Education are currently partnering with a SEN school in Blandford, in the pursuit of a dynamic and dedicated full-time SEN Teacher, with a vacancy for January, but there is scope to start immediately too!

About the school:

The all-through school, catering for primary and secondary aged students. The school supports students who have been excluded from mainstream education for a variety of reasons. It emphasises the importance of collaboration between staff, students, parents, and management for success. They pride themselves on being a happy and ambitious school that focuses on academic, social, and emotional enrichment. Their strong pastoral system provides support, guidance, and a secure environment for students to thrive and develop confidence. The school aims to nurture students' ambitions, ensuring they feel proud of their accomplishments and are prepared to contribute positively to society. The school has small classes, typically 6-12 students in each class. The school uses a primary model, emphasising core subjects of English, Maths and Science daily.  Specialist subjects include music and food technology, which are also integrated in the timetable, as well as off-site sport activities. This primary teaching model ensures consistency, stability, and a nurturing environment for academic and social development, which is the key ethos of the school.

About the Role:

As a SEN Teacher you will provide accessible and inclusive education for students, working with numerous support staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver dynamic lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students with SEN
Provide individualised support and guidance to students, promoting their academic and personal development
Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals to create comprehensive support plans for students with SEN
Maintain accurate records of student progress and development, ensuring that all necessary documentation is up to date
Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and carers, promoting effective communication and collaboration
Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualification in SEN education
Previous experience of working in a SEN school setting
Strong understanding of different SEN needs and effective strategies for supporting students
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents
Dedication to promoting inclusion and equality in education
