Job Overview:

We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic individual to join our secondary school in Hassocks as a Cover Supervisor. This position is perfect for someone eager to gain hands-on experience in a supportive school environment, with excellent career progression opportunities. You will be responsible for leading classrooms using pre-prepared lesson plans, supervising students, and providing one-to-one support when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver pre-set lesson plans provided by the subject teacher or department.
Supervise students, ensuring they remain focused and follow the school's behavior policy.
Foster a positive, engaging classroom environment that promotes active student participation.
Provide basic assistance and clarification on classwork when needed.
Ensure all necessary materials and resources are prepared and available for the lesson.
Manage the smooth running of lessons by addressing any immediate issues or questions from students.
Work with individual students or small groups to support their learning and development.
Encourage students to complete their work to the best of their ability and monitor their progress.

Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
Experience working with young people, ideally in a school setting.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to effectively manage and engage groups of students
