Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join the specialist provision within an all-through school, supporting children aged 4-16 with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. This role requires a compassionate and resilient individual who can provide tailored support to help students engage with learning, develop coping strategies, and build confidence.
Key Responsibilities
* Work within the specialist SEMH provision, supporting students with social, emotional, and behavioural challenges
* Assist in delivering structured activities tailored to individual needs
* Create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment
* Support children in developing emotional regulation and communication skills
* Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to implement effective learning strategies
Required Experience
* Strong SEMH experience in a school setting
* Classroom experience working with children with additional needs
* A patient and nurturing approach, with excellent behaviour management skills
