Procurement Head’s Industrial team are working with a client in the Carrington area of Manchester who are dedicated to innovation and excellence in manufacturing.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Procurement Manager to lead the transformation of their procurement processes toward a best practice function within this successful and growing organisation.

As the Procurement Manager, you will play a crucial role in optimising the procurement operations, streamlining the data processes, and enhancing supplier relationships. Our client manufactures overseas, and a key part of your remit is to work closely with the Far East manufacturing, ensuring value throughout the supply chain, eliminating risk, enhancing auditing processes and strengthening supplier relationships. This role has 3 direct reports.

Your expertise will drive cost savings, improve efficiency, and ensure the highest quality of materials and services.

Key Responsibilities:

* Develop and implement procurement strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

* Oversee the procurement process, from sourcing to contract management. Incorporate category management strategies

* Enhance supplier relationship management (SRM) to ensure strong partnerships and reliable supply chains.

* Lead, mentor, and manage a small team of procurement professionals.

* Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

* Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand and meet their procurement needs.

* Prepare and present reports on procurement activities and performance metrics.

Ideal experience:

* Previous experience implementing improved procurement processes

* Team management, ideally including remote teams

* Extensive procurement experience gained from manufacturing

* Strong data management skills across forecasting and planning

* Passion for sustainability and ESG initiatives

Hybrid working – 3 days a week on site
