Location: Blackburn
Job Type: Full-time, Long Term to start mid November
Salary: £100-£150 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Hours: Monday - Friday, 08:15 to 16:15 (37.5 hours per week)
Job Description:
We are currently seeking a highly organized and dynamic individual to join our team as an Examinations Officer at our Secondary School and Sixth Form in Blackburn. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive examination services to pupils/students and staff, ensuring the smooth operation of all examination processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Examination Timetabling: Organize and schedule examination timetables, ensuring accurate planning and communication with pupils/students, staff, and relevant stakeholders.
Examination Registration: Manage examination registration processes, including documentation collection, candidate eligibility verification, and maintaining accurate records.
Venue Coordination: Coordinate examination venues, ensuring appropriate facilities are arranged and prepared, and oversee the invigilation process.
Compliance and Liaison: Liaise with examination boards, external agencies, and authorities to ensure compliance with examination regulations and guidelines.
Security and Confidentiality: Manage the secure storage and distribution of examination papers and materials, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to strict protocols.
Support for Additional Needs: Oversee arrangements for pupils/students with additional needs, coordinating reasonable adjustments and providing appropriate support.
Data Management: Ensure accurate and timely submission of examination entries, results, and relevant data to examination boards and authorities.
Issue Resolution: Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to examinations, collaborating with stakeholders to find appropriate solutions.
Regulatory Compliance: Keep up-to-date with changes in examination regulations, policies, and procedures, implementing necessary adjustments for compliance.
Support and Guidance: Provide support and guidance to pupils/students and staff regarding examination-related queries and concerns.
Requirements:
Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
Initiative, sensitivity, and commitment to the role and the staff team.
Previous experience in an examination role within an educational setting (desirable but not essential).
Flexibility to work varying hours during busy examination seasons.
Possess effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, staff, and parents.
Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable), and professional references are required.
CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible.
