Role Overview:
Join a leading landscaping firm as an Assistant Project Manager supporting high-quality projects that combine soft landscaping (planting, turfing, soil preparation) and hard landscaping (paving, decking, wall construction). You will assist the Project Manager in overseeing the delivery of projects, ensuring safety, quality, and timely completion. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with a strong background in landscaping and project coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Coordination:
* Support the Project Manager in planning and scheduling soft and hard landscaping activities.
* Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to ensure resource availability, including materials, labour, and equipment.
* Manage daily site operations and address any on-site challenges.
Health & Safety (H&S):
1.
Risk Management:
Ensure all activities comply with Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).Regularly review and update RAMS as required, in consultation with the PM.

Site Safety:
Conduct daily toolbox talks with site teams.Enforce compliance with H&S standards, issuing verbal warnings and escalating to formal actions if necessary (yellow/red cards).Report incidents to the PM and contribute to accident book documentation.

H&S Reporting:
Assist in the preparation and submission of weekly safety reports (Friday packs).
Soft and Hard Landscaping Oversight:
Monitor and inspect both soft and hard landscaping work to ensure quality and compliance with project specifications.
Ensure planting, turfing, irrigation, and groundwork are executed to a high standard.
Oversee the installation of paving, decking, retaining walls, and other hardscaping elements.
Quality Assurance:
Collaborate with the PM and site teams to compile snagging lists and ensure rectifications are completed promptly.
Conduct proactive quality checks to prevent defects and maintain high standards.
Logistics and Deliveries:

Scheduling and Coordination:
Schedule and manage site deliveries, ensuring timely receipt of materials.Verify supplier certifications and delivery compliance (e.g., FORS).

Inspection and Documentation:
Inspect high-risk or critical deliveries to ensure specifications are met.Document findings with photos and records for quality assurance.
Client and Team Communication:
* Attend daily briefing sessions (DABS) and site logistics meetings.
* Communicate updates, progress, and issues to the PM and stakeholders.
* Act as a key point of contact for site operatives and subcontractors.
Skills and Experience:
* Proven experience in soft and hard landscaping, with a strong understanding of industry practices.
* Experience coordinating multiple teams and managing subcontractors.
* Knowledge of H&S regulations in landscaping and construction environments.
* Strong organizational and time-management skills.
* Proficiency in snagging and quality assurance processes.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills.
