Position: Functional Skills Tutor 

Location: Remote/Various home locations/ Dudley

Salary: £26.62 per hour with paid planning & preparation time

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Functional Skills Tutor to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality Functional Skills lessons in English, Maths, and ICT to pupils who require home tuition. Your students may have a range of learning needs or challenging behaviours, and your ability to tailor lessons to meet these needs will be key to their success.

Key Responsibilities:

- Plan and deliver engaging and effective Functional Skills lessons in English, Maths, and ICT.

- Assess each pupil's individual learning needs and adapt teaching methods accordingly.

- Provide one-on-one tuition in the home setting.

- Track and monitor pupil progress, providing regular feedback to both pupils and parents.

- Maintain a supportive and motivating learning environment that encourages pupil engagement and achievement.

- Ensure that all teaching is aligned with the Functional Skills curriculum and tailored to the needs of each learner.

Requirements:

- Proven experience in teaching Functional Skills at various levels (Entry Level, Level 1, and Level 2).

- A relevant teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training).

- Strong knowledge of the Functional Skills curriculum in English, Maths, and ICT.

- Experience working with pupils who access home tuition or alternative education settings.

- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with pupils and parents.

- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of pupils.

- A commitment to helping each pupil achieve their full potential in Functional Skills.
