Senior Electrical Engineer

Contract 3 Months +

Our client has a requirement for a Senior Electrical Engineer, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Bristol.

Role Purpose:

To provide electrical engineering expertise across a variety of projects, supporting project delivery in the Midlands, Southwest & Wales region. The role involves designing and specifying electrical building services systems while ensuring compliance with relevant standards and best practices.

Job Role Responsibilities:

Interpret and understand project briefs.
Design and specify electrical building services systems, including power, earthing, lighting, life safety, telecoms, security, access control, lifts, and lightning protection.
Conduct and oversee detailed calculations using software tools such as Amtech, Dialux/Relux, and Excel.
Prepare technical specifications using NBS.
Work with BIM teams and use Autodesk Revit for design development.
Conduct site surveys, inspections, and monitor site works.
Prepare reports and technical notes.
Maintain compliance with quality, environmental, and governance processes.
Manage workload, project deliverables, and budget considerations.
Support the technical development of junior staff.
Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:

Degree qualified in Building Services Engineering / Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Chartered Engineer status (CIBSE or IET preferred).
Proficient in Amtech/Prodesign, Dialux/Relux, NBS, and Microsoft packages (HV tools beneficial).
Knowledge of energy reduction methods, decarbonisation, and building physics principles.
Experience with measurement, verification, commissioning, and post-installation evaluation.
Previous experience in a design consultancy or contractor design environment.
Strong understanding of technical standards and regulations.
Ability to manage project deliverables, work independently, and meet deadlines.
Excellent report writing, presentation, and client communication skills.
