Location: Wyton, Cambridgeshire

Salary: £31,130 per annum (£15,565 over 6 month contract)

Contract Type: 6 month fixed term contract

About the Role:

Igloo is recruiting on behalf of our client for an Operations Team Leader in Wyton. This role is key to ensuring the smooth and efficient management of both yard operations and some administrative duties, including resource planning and return-to-work meetings. The role involves working outdoors in all weather conditions, and physical fitness is essential due to the active nature of the job.

Key Responsibilities:

* Team Management:

* Lead and manage a team of operations assistants and coordinators, overseeing all aspects of people management, including absence management, performance management, and disciplinary actions.

* Foster team engagement and ensure clear communication of roles and responsibilities.

* Operational Oversight:

* Ensure the safe and efficient movement of vehicles on-site, adhering to all health and safety regulations.

* Update vehicle records accurately in all relevant systems.

* Ensure that loose items are stored correctly and in the appropriate locations.

* General Duties:

* Conduct scheduled self-assessment checks and report on compliance, resolving or escalating any non-conformances.

* Perform any other ad-hoc duties to ensure the smooth running of yard operations.

Skills and Experience Needed:

* Strong people management skills, with experience leading a team being desirable.

* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to give clear instructions and communicate effectively with colleagues.

* Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure.

* Experience in using handheld and tablet technology.

* Physical fitness and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
