A leading provider of large aluminium products is seeking a Senior Buyer to acquire the Company’s internal supplies in a cost-effective manner. The Senior Buyer will have previous experience with indirect purchasing, have completed a degree in a business-related field, and have previous experience in manufacturing. In addition, the Senior Buyer will have excellent customer service, communication, analytical, and conflict resolution skills; as well as have good time management, IT, teamwork, and contract management experience.

Key Responsibilities:
Negotiate with suppliers using multiple methods such as summits, e-auctions and daily meetings
Negotiate T&Cs between suppliers and internal legal teams
Manage and benchmark existing suppliers, and work with colleagues to identify alternative products/sources and arrange Site trials of new supplies
Ensure contracts and NDAs are in place for all suppliers and SPAs are negotiated prior to expiry date to ensure continuity
Ensure all agreements have legal approval and maintain/update MSIS and contract database
Work on cost saving initiatives and record all savings achieved
Complete a pre-qualification questionnaire and liaise with the Health & Safety team to ensure compliance with the Company’s H&S policies
Complete monthly self-assessment ASAT tool
Assist colleagues to solve finance and requisition queries
Support the Procurement Manager in different tasks i.e. reporting, admin, preparation of events like Kaizen and supplier summits etc.
General administrative duties as associated with the running of a procurement office.
Knowledge, skills and qualifications:
Essential:
Completed an undergraduate degree in a business-related subject
Experience in indirect purchasing within the manufacturing sector
Have proven experience with business negotiation or in a procurement role
Excellent communication, customer service, analytical, and conflict resolution skills
Good IT, time management, teamwork, and decision-making skills
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and have a proactive attitude
Have contract Management Experience
Desirables:
Good presentation skills
Studying towards CIPS or being fully qualified
Good level of understanding and interpreting UK Commercial Law
Salary: £45,000
