Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced Finance Officer to join to join Conwy Council’s School Finance Team on an initial 3 month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Key Duties:
* Providing support and assistance to the Schools Principal Accountant in all aspects of school finance
* Preparing annual budgets for the Authority’s Primary, Secondary and Special Needs Schools
* Assist in the closure of accounts at the end of the financial year
* Providing advice on all matters in relation to school budgets and assist with the interpretation of reports
* Responding to numerous queries from schools, contractors, suppliers, and finance staff regarding payments and charges
* Maintaining Financial Reporting Systems
Requirements:
* Previous experience of working as a Finance Officer, Accounts Officer, Assistant Accountant or similar, ideally within a School or Council environment
* Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
* Knowledge of computerised financial systems and a range of IT skills
