Technical Manager, Liverpool
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000
We're looking for a Technical Manager to lead food safety, quality, and compliance at a key food manufacturing site. You’ll be a vital part of the senior leadership team and play a fundamental role in ensuring the ongoing success of the business.
About the Role:
The site produces a wide range of products and supplies into retail and foodservice channels. Reporting to the Group Head of Technical some of your key responsibilities will include:
* Managing and developing the site’s technical team, with direct reports include Quality Managers, Hygiene Manager, and a Compliance Manager.
* Leading all aspects of food safety, quality, authenticity and legal compliance, collaborating with colleagues across the site to instil a strong food safety & quality culture
* Ensuring compliance with BRCGS and retailers codes of practice, proactively working to remain ‘audit ready’.
* Proactively identifying new and improved ways of working to drive standards and ensure technical KPIs are achieved.
* Preparing for and leading BRC, customer and authority audits and visits.
About You:
* Experience of leading and developing technical and quality teams within a food manufacturing environment. Knowledge of high-care and thermal processing would be an advantage.
* Strong knowledge and understanding of BRC standards and retailer codes of practice.
* Ideally educated to degree level in Food Science or similar, or equivalent experience, along with HACCP and Food Safey qualifications.
* Strong leadership skills, able to coach, mentor, and motivate a team to develop skills.
* Confident in building strong relationships with customer and colleagues at all levels.
