Specialist SEN Mentor - Bracknell
Immediate Start - Full-Time
Autism Focus & Complex Needs
Are you committed to supporting mental health? Do you have a passion for helping children overcome emotional challenges? If so, this role in Bracknell might be ideal for you!
A welcoming, inclusive school in Bracknell is seeking a Mental Health Support Mentor to work with pupils facing diverse mental health challenges. The school is keen to hire someone patient, enthusiastic about education, and dedicated to making a positive impact on young lives. This position is available for an immediate or as-soon-as-possible start.
The pupils at the school experience difficulties regulating and processing emotions due to past trauma, leading to issues like anxiety, stress, attachment concerns, and depression. As a Mental Health Support Mentor, you'll assist these students in managing their emotions while fostering a trusting and supportive environment. Your role will also involve working closely with the class teacher, helping with classroom activities and tasks.
The ideal candidate for this position will be resilient, adaptable, and ready to embrace a challenge. Being flexible and tailoring your approach to meet the unique needs of each child is crucial. While previous experience with children who have mental health needs is a plus, it is not essential-enthusiasm, a proactive mindset, and a positive outlook are what matter most!
This role offers a fantastic opportunity for recent graduates looking to pursue a career in mental health, education, or social care. It provides invaluable experience in supporting children with complex social, emotional, and mental health needs, preparing you for future roles as an educational or occupational psychologist, therapist, counsellor, teacher, or within the criminal justice sector.
