Due to our continued success and growth, Sauter UK are seeking an experienced Business Development / Sales Manager to focus on the generation of new BMS opportunities within the central London new build market.

Focused on promoting direct channel sales and solutions, the primary objective will be to work with M&E Design Consultants and Tier 1 and Tier 2 MEP contractors to ensure the Sauter BMS solution is named at the specification stage and that projects are then secured with the successful MEP contractor.

A technical background in BMS and HVAC will be essential to allow input into the design of industry leading HVAC control designs and performance specifications. The individual must also be confident in delivering professional presentations and by using their technical knowledge on industry standards and the Sauter product, work with the clients to deliver the required solution

Whilst the role is London centric, there will be a requirement to be flexible to travel to meet the needs of the business which could involve working with clients outside of the M25.

Key Responsibilities:

* Carryout regular visits to Consulting Engineers, End Users, Developers and Contractors in the region to provide sales presentations and demonstrations to ensure Sauter equipment and solutions are named in the specification.

* To develop and maintain strong customer relationships through regular contact with clients to offer project solutions and advice through the introduction of new and innovative products.

* Deliver controls and building performance related advice and developing technical documentation to assist in BMS specifications and specific HVAC controls solutions.

* Help clients develop design and engineering requirements of building control systems for a varied range of small to very large and mixed-use buildings, varying in complexity and demands.

* Collaborate with the internal Sauter technical, engineering and project management teams to gather necessary information and insights for precise estimations and support in final BMS & Smart Building presentations.

* Identify new potential clients in all market verticals, establish contact & develop new business relationships, ultimately securing new works.

* Keep up-to-date data with clients’ plans and policy changes which may influence their buying decisions.

* Lead end client meetings, workshops and training to increase awareness of the Sauter product range and ensure Sauter becomes the selection of choice.

* Implement a visit schedule for customer visits that can be measured through KPIs.

* Maintain and update the CRM package to capture all activities and opportunities.

* Prepare monthly reports detailing order intake, latest forecasts, expected margin alongside presenting overall sales results to the Sales Director.

What we are looking for in an individual:

* Minimum 5 years’ experience of working in the UK BMS industry, preferably in a sales or pre-construction role

* Has a proven track record of delivering year on year material growth

* Can demonstrate a good understanding of the pre-construction market, from stage tenders through to final tender design and proposal submission

* Be established knowledgeable with the Design Consultant and MEP London client base.

* Ideally has worked in a technical role where there is a strong understanding of HVAC & BMS solutions.

* Highly motivated and capable of working in a team

* Strong commercial acumen

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.

* Accomplished problem-solving capability coupled with the ability to manage complexity and ambiguity.

* Be an effective collaborator and business partner with a track record of earning trust and respect of operational and functional colleagues
