Production Engineering Manager
Our client are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Production Engineering Manager to lead a small team of multiskilled engineers and oversee the smooth flow of production build and test activities. The ideal candidate will ensure that production costs, quality, and schedules are met at optimum levels while heavily driving continuous improvement and lean initiatives. This individual will also provide technical support to the manufacturing team and work closely with engineering to ensure accurate documentation and manufacturing requirements.
Responsibilities as Production Engineering Manager:
- Ensure production costs, quality, and schedules are met at optimum levels
- Lead and manage a small team of multiskilled engineers
- Facilitate the smooth flow of production build and test activities
- Implement continuous improvement and lean initiatives
- Provide technical support to the manufacturing team
- Collaborate with engineering to ensure accurate documentation and manufacturing requirements
- Resolve any production-related issues
- Support technical proposals and compile assembly instructions or engineering reports
- Ensure the team are prioritising workloads effectively and are working cohesively
- Keep all stakeholders, customers, and project teams up to date with relevant information
- Provide accurate costing and timescale estimates
- Nurture and develop the team and lead by example
Experience as Production Engineering Manager:
- Engineering and manufacturing leadership experience in a lean production environment
- Ideally an HND/HNC or equivalent in a related engineering discipline
- Experience working with BOMs and manufacturing routings within an ERP/MRP system
- Ability to support technical proposals and compile assembly instructions or engineering reports
- Excellent communicator, who can lead a team proficiently
