Engage Talent Partners is exclusively supporting our client, a growing business based in Bridge of Don, Aberdeen, to recruit for a Temporary Assistant Accountant. This role is ideal for a motivated finance professional looking to contribute to a dynamic, fast-paced team.
Working with the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for a blend of accounts payable and accounts receivable duties as well as a variety of other accounting tasks to support the company’s finance operations.
Key responsibilities:
* Maintain spreadsheet for Intercompany invoices.
* Process supplier invoices to ERP.
* Match and confirm POs for supplier invoices.
* Manage Company accounts and process Expense Claims in Concur system, ensuring compliance with policy.
* Review Munros/Amex statement, code, and initiate payment.
* Perform intercompany netting mid-month.
* Perform supplier payments mid-month and end of month, including employees expense reports processed on Concur.
* Perform manual and ad-hoc payments throughout month.
* Check statements for supplier accounts.
* Allocate customer daily payments, monitor customer overdue amounts, and assess customer creditworthiness. Update Teams report and Power BI. Matching credit notes.
* Participate in meetings with Commercial Teams on over dues, invoicing/booking allocation.
* Monitor and review forex hedging contracts and liaise with Group treasury through Forex reporting.
* Update and complete weekly treasury forecast for Corporate Treasury. Analyse actual vs forecast variances.
* Assist external accountant with bookkeeping (Vat return, banking) and perform internal reporting of a small dormant subsidiary until liquidation is completed.
* Participate in the liquidation process.
* Maintain Fixed Asset Register, post additions to Accounting System and provide Controlling support for large Capex projects.
* Process journals prepared by Finance Manager onto ERP
* Send cash figures each morning to Group.
* Summarize cash received not allocated for the preparation of Teams report on Accounts receivable.
* Post cash received and paid on ERP.
* Control bank transactions and perform bank reconciliation of daily bank statements (accounts in various currencies)
* Perform monthly Bank Reconciliation for validation by N+1.
* Control cash pool transactions and perform month end reconciliations for cash pool accounts with group.
* Maintain spreadsheet for Variable Maintenance Spending including any authorised revenue.
* Maintain spreadsheet for Gas/Electricity Spending
* Manage company vehicle fleet, including update of Motor Insurance Database.
* Assist Finance Manager with External Reporting and provide backup for Internal Reporting (BFC).
* Assist with preparation and assembly of supporting documentation for external & internal auditors.
* Active participation in projects and any other ad-hoc duties as required.
* Ensure all work is performed in compliance with defined Quality, Environmental, & Health & Safety Procedures, Standards and Regulations.
Applicants should have previous experience within a Finance based role and/or have a relevant educational qualification. You will be competent using finance software and able to work in a busy work environment.
The ideal candidate will also have excellent interpersonal skills, organised and critical thinking skills to meet deadlines.
