Purpose of the Estimator role:

To deliver complete and accurate bid submissions on time to Project Sales Managers and to identify technical/product/commercial risk and escalating for mitigation. To communicate technical inputs in the bid to customers.

Key Accountabilities:

Review Tender Enquiries:

Thoroughly review and understand all client requirements and tender return dates for each assigned tender enquiry, ensuring 100% comprehension of client requirements and key dates for all tenders assigned and that they align with client expectations and timelines, directly impacting project success.

Compile Tender Returns:

Accurately compile and submit tender returns, including all required pricing and information, achieving a 100% submission rate of complete tender returns within agreed timescales. Utilise checklists and project management tools to ensure completeness and timeliness. Submit all tender returns by the agreed deadline, ensuring compliance with PRM and Client Health and Safety standards.

Monitor Progress:

Regularly track and monitor the progress of all designated tasks, ensuring timely completion for 95% of tasks within the agreed timeframes. Implement weekly progress checks and updates to maintain schedule adherence. Review tasks’ progress weekly and adjust plans as needed to stay on track.

Obtain Quotes for Predicted Requirements:

Secure quotes from purchasing for all anticipated needs, including sub-contractors and suppliers, obtaining a minimum of three viable quotes for each required service or material. Use established supplier relationships and procurement tools to streamline the process and ensure accurate pricing and cost-effectiveness for tenders. Obtain all necessary quotes within timescales as agreed by line manager before the tender submission deadline.

Collate Detailed Price Lists:

Develop comprehensive price lists covering materials, transport, labour, and equipment hire. Utilise templates and historical data to ensure thoroughness and 100% accuracy in pricing for all tender components to produce viable and profitable tender submissions. Complete detailed pricing collation prior to tender submission as set by the client.

Prepare Kitchen Design Layouts:

Create kitchen design layouts as required for tenders, ensuring design accuracy and compliance with client specifications in 100% of layouts, collaborating with the design team when necessary to meet client expectations and enhancing bid attractiveness. Deliver completed layouts to agreed timescales.

Compile Value Engineering Options:

Develop cost-effective alternatives to meet client needs, without compromising quality, producing client-specific options for submission at the pre-tender meeting. Leverage industry knowledge and past project data to identify viable options, to provide clients with tailored solutions, increasing the likelihood of tender success.

Assist Specialised Projects Bids Lead:

Support the SPBL in preparing bids for projects and maintain regular communication and collaboration to ensure all aspects are covered. Contribute to the successful completion of at least 90% of all bids. Provide assistance with final reviews at least 24 hours before bid submission to ensure all bids are comprehensive and viable. Represent the business at client meetings as and when required, always in a professional manner.

Requirements for the role:

* Demonstrable methodical approach.

* Demonstrable problem-solving skills.

* Tenacity, with the ability to work to tight deadlines.

* Ability to use own initiative and work with minimal supervision.

* Excel, Word and AutoCAD experience required.

* Hold or willingness to obtain a CSCS card.

* Prior experience within the Construction industry, ideally KBB specific is desirable but not essential.

N.B. We operate a hybrid work pattern, whereby you can choose to work from home for up to two elected days per week
