About the role: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in Waltham Forest starting in January 2025. This full-time, long-term position will support children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in Key Stage 1 and 2, helping them to overcome learning barriers and achieve their full potential. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with ASD and will be committed to creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment. You will be working alongside a team of experienced teachers and staff to provide tailored support to students both in small groups and on a 1:1 basis.

Application Requirements:
• Experience working with children, ideally with special educational needs (SEN).
• A positive and proactive approach to supporting children with ASD.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• A valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
• A commitment to supporting the school’s ethos of inclusion and excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning plans to children with ASD.
• Provide 1:1 support for students requiring additional help with tasks.
• Foster an inclusive environment where all students feel supported and motivated.
• Work collaboratively with other teaching assistants and support staff to ensure the academic, social, and emotional needs of students are met.
• Help implement behaviour management strategies in line with school policies.
