Job Title - Technical Manager

About the Role:
As the Technical Manager, you will be responsible for leading the entire technical department and ensuring that all products meet stringent safety, quality, and legal requirements. Your responsibilities will include:
-Overseeing food safety, quality, and legality across all products.
-Driving the technical strategy within the business, ensuring alignment with company goals and industry regulations.
-Managing the technical budget for the site and ensuring efficient use of resources.
-Maintaining audit readiness at all times, managing all external audits including BRC, retailer audits, and other regulatory bodies.
-Developing and maintaining strong communication with customers and external stakeholders.
-Leading and mentoring your technical team, fostering growth and development.
Key Responsibilities:
-Lead and manage the technical department, ensuring compliance with all legal, safety, and quality standards.
-Ensure the site is fully audit ready, managing BRC and retailer audits and any other external inspections.
-Take ownership of the site's technical budget, ensuring effective cost management.
-Build and maintain relationships with customers, retailers, and external partners.
-Develop and enhance your team's skills, ensuring they are equipped to meet the company's technical objectives.
Key Requirements:
-Proven experience in a similar Technical Manager role within the food and drink industry.
-Strong leadership and team management experience, with the ability to develop and inspire your team.
-In-depth knowledge of BRC standards, HACCP, and food safety regulations.
-Previous experience managing audits with BRC and major retailers is essential.
-Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
-A proactive, strategic mindset with the ability to drive improvements and deliver results.
-Previous experience working with chilled and high risk products is essential.
Salary - £60,000 - £65,000
