The Role

Creating opportunities using solution/value-based selling to meet the new business requirements of the Yate Sales Strategy and integrating these customers into the business on a site and regional level. Managing a selection of important existing customers maximising volume, profitability and engraining Smurfit Westrock as their development partner.

Main Duties

Agree sales strategy with Sales Director

Identify and win new business prospects in accordance with this strategy

Meet agreed targets for this new business growth

Establish and develop relationships with new business prospects in addition to maintaining and developing existing key accounts

Understand the customer’s business model and processes to identify new opportunities for Smurfit Westrock to add value to the customer

Manage new accounts brought into the business to ensure customers and business expectations are achieved and exceeded

Active involvement in marketing and promotional activities within Smurfit Westrock site

Provide market knowledge to ensure that all customer and competitor activities are brought to the management’s attention.

Work in conjunction with and provide support as required to the Sales Support/NPD function.

Integrate CRM as part of the sales methodology and follow the Value Selling Process.

Follow agreed company procedures and Health & Safety requirements

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

The job holder must have good commercial and technical awareness and the ability to develop our multi layered sales offering. 

 Good financial background and understanding of key business drivers

Good commercial acumen and awareness

Good knowledge of customer sectors
