Are you ready to make a meaningful impact by sharing your expertise in textiles and helping individuals develop skills that can transform their futures?

We’re looking for a Textile Workshop Facilitator to lead and manage the daily operations of a textile workshop within a structured and secure environment. In this role, you’ll work with up to 35 prisoners, teaching practical skills such as sewing, embroidery, and repairs while fostering a safe and supportive workplace.

Your work will play a vital role in preparing individuals for future employment, promoting rehabilitation through restorative practices, and contributing to their personal and professional development.

* Proven ability to manage and motivate teams, ideally in a structured work environment.

* Strong knowledge of health and safety compliance in industrial or workshop settings.

* Ability to maintain strict security protocols and manage tools in line with prison strategies.

* Experience with restorative practices to encourage accountability and rehabilitation and familiarity with working in custodial settings or similar environments is desirable but not essential.

What you’ll do:

* Supervise daily workshop operations, ensuring a safe, clean, and organised environment.

* Train and guide prisoners in sewing, embroidery, mending, and tailoring, fostering skill development and accountability.

* Plan and manage work schedules, set production targets, and monitor progress to meet quality standards and deadlines.

* Oversee inventory, coordinate with procurement teams, and ensure resources are maintained.

* Conduct risk assessments, train on tool safety, and uphold strict security protocols.

* Collaborate with Work & Skills Coaches and custodial staff to support individual development plans.

* Maintain accurate records, including attendance, hours worked, and progress reports.

Please note: This role will be known internally as Industries Instructor
