Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Interim Head of Building Safety and Compliance to join a local authority in the West Midlands for a 12-month contract. This critical role requires a dynamic leader who will ensure the highest standards of safety and compliance within our community.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee the building safety and compliance functions for the local authority.
Ensure adherence to all relevant legislation and regulations associated with building safety and compliance.
Manage all six compliance disciplines: asbestos, fire, water, lifts, gas, and electricity.
Oversee health and safety requirements related to building safety and compliance.
Supervise and provide guidance to the Building Safety Manager and Compliance Manager.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance building safety standards.
Monitor and report on compliance performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.Essential Qualifications and Experience:
Must have local authority experience.
In-depth knowledge of legislation related to building safety and compliance.
Strong understanding of all six compliance disciplines (asbestos, fire, water, lifts, gas, and electric).
Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide teams effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Desirable Attributes:
