EMBS Engineering Ltd is working in partnership with a leading precision engineering manufacturer in Northampton, currently looking for an experienced Senior Buyer to join their team on a permanent basis. The company is a well-established entity, renowned for delivering safety-critical and highly complex components to globally recognised customers.

Due to continued success and internal changes, our client is seeking a skilled Senior Buyer to lead the supply chain transformation, improve systems, and foster strong relationships with new and existing suppliers. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Buyer to join a market leader.

Your Responsibilities as Senior Buyer

As the Senior Buyer, your responsibilities will include optimising the supply chain and modernising purchasing systems. You will be responsible for ensuring efficient procurement processes that align with business goals. Your key tasks will include:

* Order Management: Reviewing and processing purchase orders based on customer demands, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement

* Sourcing and Negotiating: Collaborating with suppliers to secure the best products at the most competitive prices while improving cost efficiencies and managing contracts

* Logistics Oversight: Managing manufacturing and delivery processes to ensure smooth operations and timely deliveries

* Innovating and Optimising: Introducing new technologies to enhance supply chain performance, improving supplier relationships, and driving continuous improvement initiatives

* Team Leadership: Managing and motivating a team to meet company targets, ensuring that quality and sustainability standards are maintained

Successful Applicants Must Have:

* Proven experience in supply chain purchasing within precision engineering or advanced manufacturing sectors

* Experience working with components for regulated industries such as Aerospace, Automotive, Motorsport, F1, Defence, Nuclear, and Petrochemical

* Strong expertise in MRP/ERP systems, coupled with excellent analytical, negotiation, and business management skills

* Demonstrated leadership abilities, problem-solving skills, and strategic thinking

* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while working under pressure and maintaining accuracy
