Job Title: Teaching Assistant for Secondary-Age Students with Behavioural Needs (SEMH)

Location: West Norwood

Job Type: Full-time, term-time only

Uniform Education are currently looking for experienced teaching and learning supporting assistants who are comfortable supporting secondary-age students with behavioural, social and emotional needs. A solid commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment is essential to ensuring all students are given the best start to life.

Key Responsibilities

1.

Student Support: Provide targeted support for secondary-age students, helping them engage with the curriculum and develop essential life skills.

2.

Behavior Management: Implement strategies to address challenging behaviours and ensure a safe learning environment.

3.

Collaboration: Work with our team to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavioral intervention plans (BIPs) tailored to each student's unique needs, by providing feedback to the class teachers and wider faculty.

4.

Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Evaluate student progress and adapt strategies as needed.

5.

Inclusive Environment: Promote inclusion by accommodating diverse learning needs, providing sensory-friendly spaces, and fostering social interactions among students.

6.

Safety: Ensure student well-being and manage crises effectively.

Your behavioral expertise is essential for helping students with adverse backgrounds overcome challenges and thrive.

What we look for:

* Experience working with secondary-age students or young adults with behavioural needs, especially those from care or adverse backgrounds.

* Strong communication skills.

* Ability to work collaboratively and remain calm in challenging situations.

* Knowledge of behavioral management techniques.
