Senior Design Engineer

Location: Coventry – Possibility of hybrid Working available after probation
Contract: Permanent, 40 hours per week (8 AM – 5 PM)

About the Role:
We are looking for a Senior Design Engineer with strong experience in temporary and permanent works design within tunnelling and underground structures. You will play a key role in shaping the design process within a rapidly growing SME that works with Tier 1 contractors and major infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

* Leading conceptual and detailed designs for tunnels, shafts, and underground structures

* Reviewing and approving design calculations, reports, and drawings

* Supporting and mentoring junior engineers

* Managing external design consultants and ensuring compliance with CDM Regulations

* Attending client meetings and providing technical guidance

What We’re Looking For:

* Engineering Degree /Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering

* Minimum 5 years post-graduate experience in civil engineering design

* Experience in temporary and permanent works for tunnels, shafts, or underground structures

* Familiarity with Eurocodes and CDM Regulations

* Chartered Engineer status (CEng, MICE, MIStructE) preferred or working towards it

* Full UK driving licence
