Job Title: School Welfare Assistant
Position Type: Part-time (12:00 pm - 13:30 pm daily)
Location: Preston
Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a School Welfare Assistant. This part-time position requires someone who is committed to promoting the well-being of students during lunch hours, ensuring a safe and supportive environment within the school premises. The School Welfare Assistant will play a crucial role in providing assistance, guidance, and supervision to students during this time.
Responsibilities:

Supervise and monitor students during lunch breaks to ensure their safety and well-being.
Provide support and assistance to students who may require help or guidance during lunchtime activities.
Foster a positive and inclusive environment by promoting respectful behaviour and resolving conflicts among students effectively and calmly.
Collaborate with school staff and teachers to address any behavioural or disciplinary issues that may arise during lunch hours.
Implement school policies and procedures to maintain a safe and orderly environment.
Report any concerns or incidents to appropriate school personnel.
Assist in organising and supervising activities or programs designed for student engagement during lunch breaks.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. Additional education or training in counseling, social work, or child development is a plus.
Previous experience working with children or adolescents in a school, camp, childcare, or similar setting is preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with students, staff, and parents/guardians.
Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Understanding of child behavior and developmental stages.
Ability to enforce rules and guidelines while maintaining a positive and supportive atmosphere.
First aid and CPR certification is advantageous.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date
