ob Opportunity: Geotechnical Engineer

My client is a leading consultancy specialising in geotechnical and geo-environmental engineering, offering a comprehensive range of services to support land development projects. Key Responsibilities:

Attend site meetings and act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring effective communication and coordination.

Prepare Health & Safety documentation and assist in the compilation of project-related health and safety information.

Perform geotechnical design tasks, including slope stability, settlement analysis, retaining structures, and reinforced earth projects. Oversee earthworks specifications, design, and supervision.

Design, supervise, and manage site investigations, including estimating costs and procuring work from subcontractors.

Mentor and provide line management to less experienced technical staff.

Develop interpretative reports that integrate both geotechnical and environmental data.

Required Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:

Degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering, or a related field.

At least 4 years of relevant experience, with a minimum of 2 years geotechnical design and assessment (slope stability, settlement, retaining structures, earthworks, and reinforced earth).

Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, capable of building effective relationships at all levels within the organisation, with clients, and contractors.

Competency in logging soil and rock according to current British Standards.

Familiarity with relevant UK regulatory guidance.

Proficiency in using software like Holebase, CAD, QGIS, Slide, and Geo5 is beneficial (training available).

Membership with the Geological Society (or a similar organisation) and actively working towards Chartered status.

Full UK driving license
