Hamilton Woods is delighted to be working with a well-established and growing SME construction business to appoint a Finance Director. This is a key leadership role, working closely with the Managing Director and senior team to drive financial strategy, operational efficiency, and business growth.

This is a hands-on role, ideal for a qualified senior finance professional with experience in the construction sector, who is comfortable working both strategically and operationally in a fast-moving, dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Partner with the Managing Director and senior leadership team to shape and deliver the company's financial strategy.
Oversee the finance function, ensuring effective financial planning, budgeting, and cash flow management.
Support business growth by providing commercial insight and financial guidance on new projects and investment opportunities.
Improve financial processes and controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy in reporting.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and support funding discussions where required.
Work closely with external stakeholders, including investors, banks, and suppliers, to maintain strong financial relationships.

Key Skills & Experience:

Fully qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA accountant.
Minimum 5-7 years of post-qualification experience, ideally in a finance leadership role within construction, property development, or a related sector.
Strong commercial and operational finance experience, with the ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders.
Hands-on approach, comfortable working in an SME environment where adaptability is key.
Excellent analytical skills and experience managing financial planning, budgeting, and reporting processes.

Package & Benefits:

Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 (Negotiable)
Car Allowance
Performance-Related Bonus
