Job Description:
To provide an effective and prompt service of manufacture, repair and service of tooling, gauging and equipment to be used in the manufacture of all Company products, ensuring that objectives on Cost, Quality and Delivery are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
Operate a range of machine tools including ProtoTrak Lathes and ProtoTrak Milling Machines. Experience using Surface Grinders, External Grinders, Internal Grinders, and Optical Profile Grinders would be beneficial.
Be proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
Demonstrate excellent attention to detail working with tolerances up to ±0.0001”/0.0025mm
Select and use appropriate measurement equipment to inspect finished tools and parts to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
To be fully aware of the Company’s Health and Safety Regulations and ensure they are followed.
To communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with colleagues at all levels.
Assist with departmental training when required.
Ensure that the work area, machinery, and equipment are kept in a clean, safe and fully maintained condition.
Use of systems capturing work content and material usage.
An understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement.
Candidate requirements:
Apprenticeship trained or relevant machining experience.
A related qualification e.g., City and Guilds, NVQ, ONC. (Desirable but not essential.
Ensure you are willing to learn and adapt to new technologies as they evolve.
Work well within a diverse team and build relationships with colleagues and managers.
