An exciting opportunity has become available for a Specifications Technologist to join a rapidly expanding Food Manufacturing company based in Middlesex.
This is a full-time permanent position.
As a Specifications Technologist you will be responsible for reviewing all specifications for both branded and own label products, artwork in line with all labelling policies, working to launch deadlines and critical time scales. Be involved in reviewing raw material content to develop gold standard specifications to improve compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
· Responsible for assisting the Process & Specifications Manager following products from NPD handover through to launch. This will include:
I. Attend internal handovers;
II. Work alongside the Food Safety & Due Diligence Manager to assist in raw material specification approvals.
III. Creating and completing customer specifications on web based portals.
IV. Assist Process & Specification Manager in checking artwork.
V. Assist the Process & Specification Manager to ensure all customer specifications are activating prior to launch.
· Drawing up raw material specifications for selling and buying under the companies brand name.
· Drawing up finished product specifications for non-retailer branded products.
Requirements, Experience and Person Specification:
· Food industry technical administration/specifications experience, with knowledge of writing retailer specifications.
· Have a good understanding of HACCP, be comfortable managing multiple tasks at once, excellent communication skills will be important within this role liaising with teams to ensure all work is completed on time to top standards. Someone who is analytical and problem solving would thrive within this position.
· The ideal candidate will be proficient in Microsoft, can influence across all departments to build relationships.
· Ideally degree/NHD educated in a food science, food technology or nutrition discipline.
· A background of working with products such as chilled prepared foods, ready meals, food-to-go or similar product would be an advantage.

The working hours for this role is Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm
The salary for this position is £28,000 - £32,000 DOE
