Central is currently recruiting for two Senior Progression Coaches, to work in the Twickenham area. The service provides housing-related support for young people at risk of serious youth violence. The service provides small-scale accommodation for young people, with a maximum length of stay of twelve months.

The successful candidate will be required to work 37.5 hours per week, working Monday - Sunday on a rota of early (8AM - 4PM) and late (2PM - 10PM) shifts. You'll be required to work 3 weekends out of 6. Temporary cover is required for approximately 3 months, with the possibility of extension. The pay rate is £16.00 per hour, with £2.41 holiday pay, totalling £18.41 per hour.

In this position, you will be expected to;

* Ensure the safety and wellbeing of clients in the service on a day to day basis including ensuring that Safeguarding and emergency alert procedures are followed

* Key work one young person, ensuring high quality risk and needs assessments and SMART outcomes-based Support Plans as well as provide support to all young people at the service

* Deliver one-to one and group support opportunities within the accommodation and local community aimed at increasing resilience in the clients we work with.

* Support service users to reach their full potential by identifying and reaching their aspirations and assisting them to move on successfully to appropriate independent living

* Ensure that housing management is properly maintained and the service supports clients to sustain their tenancy agreement

* Involve clients in the decisions made about them and encourage participation in the wider community programme of activities

* Support all clients to participate in Education, Training, Employment and Volunteering opportunities as appropriate to the development of their skills, assets and aspirations

* Be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of the environment for clients, staff, visitors and volunteers through regular risk assessment, health and safety checks and reporting in accordance with the Health and Safety Policy

* Deploy and supervise the work of volunteers including undertaking supervision and appraisals.

* Liaise with internal departments including Finance, HR, Fundraising and Business Development as necessary to ensure the smooth running of the service.

* Ensure the accurate collection and recording of rent, charges and petty cash and the countersigning of invoices to support good financial management in the service.

* Retain oversight of repairs and maintenance reporting to ensure the buildings are kept in good order and safe for clients to reside in

To apply for this role, you must have;

* Experience working with young people who have experienced homelessness, poor mental health, substance use, the criminal justice system or have a history of living in care

* Experience working in an accommodation environment

* Experience of holding a caseload, completing key working sessions, using Risk Assessments and Support Planning

* Knowledge of housing legislation

* High level understanding of professional boundaries and ability to maintain boundaries

* An understanding and commitment to working in an assets-based way.

* Experience of operating safeguarding requirements and procedures

* Commitment to promoting an environment which has the highest regard for the Health and Safety of others

* Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills

Further requirements:

In order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria:

* Current valid right to work in the UK

* Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years* (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise)

* A fully enhanced DBS either registered on the DBS update service or issued within the last 12 months, or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £50)

* Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process
