Residential Support Worker Salary: £95 to £110 per day

Contract: Part-Time/Full-Time

GSL Education’s South Yorkshire Branch is seeking enthusiastic people to join our client school as a Residential Support Worker. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience and support students in their progress.

Job Summary: As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and support to young residents, helping them to achieve their full potential and navigate the challenges they face. You will work as part of a dedicated team to create a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where each young person feels valued and supported.

Residential Support Worker Job Responsibilities:

Provide emotional and practical support to young people in our care, helping them with daily living tasks, educational activities, and personal development.
Support and guide young people in managing their behavior and emotions, using positive reinforcement techniques and promoting self-esteem.
Implement and review individual care plans in collaboration with other professionals, ensuring that each young person's needs are met, and their goals are achieved.
Maintain open and effective communication with young people, their families, and other professionals involved in their care. Keep accurate records and provide regular updates on progress.
Ensure a safe and secure living environment by adhering to health and safety regulations, conducting risk assessments, and responding appropriately to any incidents or emergencies.
Organize and participate in recreational and educational activities that promote social skills, personal growth, and community involvement.
The Essential Requirements for Successful Residential Support Worker:

Previous experience in a residential care or support role is advantageous, but not essential.
A genuine passion for working with young people and a commitment to making a positive impact on their lives.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with young people.
Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
A relevant qualification in Health and Social Care or a related field (e.g., NVQ Level 3) is desirable but not essential.
