Support Workers Needed to Keep Families Together

Supply Staff is looking for dedicated Support Workers who are passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people and their families. In this role, you'll be working to prevent children from entering the care system by providing crucial support that helps keep families united.

This role is both challenging and deeply rewarding. You’ll work closely with young people and their families, offering the necessary support to help them stay together. Your involvement could range from a few hours a week to providing 24/7 round-the-clock care, depending on the family's needs.

To excel in this role, you will need:

* Communication skills: Clear, respectful communication with families and colleagues is essential.

* Patience: A calm and understanding approach is vital.

* Empathy: The ability to connect with people from all walks of life is key.

* Office skills: Competency in writing reports, updating computer records, and other basic IT tasks is required.

* Reliability: As a caregiver for vulnerable children in their own homes, your dependability is crucial.

* Resilience: The ability to remain calm and bounce back from challenging situations is essential.

Qualifications/Experience:

* At least 1 year of experience in the UK working with children of secondary school age, particularly those in care or at risk.

* An NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care is desirable.

* The right to work in the UK.

* A DBS check registered with the Update Service, or a willingness to apply for one.

* The ability to provide references covering at least the last 3 years, with 2 being professional.

* A comprehensive CV accounting for all periods since leaving secondary school, including explanations for any employment gaps longer than 1 month.

* If you’ve lived or worked abroad for 6 months or more in the past 10 years while aged 18 or older, an overseas police check is required.
