Abatec is currently recruiting for a Project Engineer/Commissioning Engineer to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team on the Wessex Water framework on projects ranging from £3m to £8m across the Bournemouth region.

You will be reporting to a Project Manager and will be responsible for supporting all technical and commercial aspects of electrical and mechanical installations onsite.

Candidates ideally will be qualified in Electrical Engineering but should have a good appreciation of mechanical engineering.

As Project/Commissioning Engineer you will

* Implement new / upgrade existing assets to reduce nutrient levels, including phosphorus, in treated wastewater before it is released into waterways.

* Work on new dosing skids, storage tanks with level instrumentation, MCERT flowmeters, pumps, actuated valves, penstocks, and access platforms. (Mechanical and Electrical Installations)

* Upgrade existing lighting and exchange old pumps, valves, flow meters, and instrumentation. (Upgrades and Exchanges)

* Ensure that site installation works and quality match both design and appropriate industry standards.

* Record and review as-built information.

* Produce Risk Assessments and Method Statements, Programme Updates and Procurement Schedules.

Abatec’s client is looking for someone with:

* Degree or HND/HNC in Electrical

* Water engineering background (preferred)

* Good working knowledge of Safety, Health Environment and Quality procedures

* Ability to use Microsoft Office and CAD packages

* Good appreciation of Microsoft Excel to a ‘higher’ level
