Central is currently recruiting for a Night Worker, to work in the Hammersmith and Fulham area. The high support service provides support to young people aged 16-25 with a variety of support needs.
The successful candidate will be required to work 37.5 hours per week, working across Monday – Sunday on a rota basis, covering waking night shifts between 9:30PM – 9AM. Temporary cover is required for approximately 1-2 months. The pay rate for this role is £13.85 per hour, with £2.01 holiday pay, totalling £15.86 per hour.
In this position, you will be required to:
* Carry out regular building health and safety inspections, identifying risk factors, responding accordingly and carrying out basic repairs where possible
* Request maintenance ensuring that young people receive a customer-focused service in accordance with policy
* Proactively engage with young people through activities or games nights for example
* Enable young people to manage risk by providing support, guidance and information on Health and Safety and support them in managing their physical environment
* Positively promote the benefits of developing and sustaining support networks and support young people in the development of these relationships
* Compliment the work of the supported Housing officers by providing advice and guidance to young people on benefits, local service provision and the service complaints procedure
* Respond in a suitable manner to the welfare to young people including child protection and vulnerable adult issues, by informing management and working in accordance with local requirements and policies and procedures
* Work as part of a team in preparing the accommodation for letting
* Ensure that the standards of the building are maintained by keeping the building tidy and carrying out cleaning jobs as required
* Ensure that premises are maintained to a high standard, and meet all legal and statutory requirements to operate safely, effectively and efficiently
* Ensure that all maintenance needs are reported and progressed in accordance within agreed timeframes

* Experience of working with homeless and / or excluded and disengaged young people
* Knowledge of the resources available to young homeless people (benefits, learning and work opportunities, legislation about their rights to social services support and housing)
* Experience in maintaining and creating good written records of work to demonstrate evidencing outcomes achieved with young people
* The ability to positively engage with young people and experience of previous engagement with young people
* Experience of working and engaging as part of a team
* IT skills necessary to undertake all administrative and reporting requirements
* The ability to manage workload to meet a range of conflicting deadlines

Further requirements:
In order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria:
* Current valid right to work in the UK
* Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years* (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise)
* A fully enhanced DBS either registered on the DBS update service or issued within the last 12 months, or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £50)
* Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process
