Senior Electrical Design Engineer

The role:

To Work within the Electrical Design team to produce detail circuit diagrams, component layouts, BOM's, Calculations as required for the automated warehouse systems. Be a key team member in the overall Engineering team and Project delivery team, working co-operatively and proactively to ensure our projects are delivered on time, on quality and on cost. Deputise for the Electrical Design Manager in their absence. Lead the Electrical Design on automation projects.

Responsibilities:

Produce high quality electrical designs that meet project requirements and relevant technical standards.
Produce Eplan drawings suitable for use by the installation and service support teams.
Produce Bills of Materials and process documentation suitable for the procurement team to efficiently purchase parts required.
Produce technical documentation required to support other departments in the execution of their tasks.
Work with the Project Engineering team to ensure full co-ordination of electrical, control and mechanical part requirements and a complete integrated design solution.
Proactively work with Engineering, procurement, project management and installations to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and scope.
Investigate and resolve any technical issues that are flagged within electrical design.
Attend project sites to inspect the electrical installation against required standards and ensure it meets design intent.
Support colleagues around the business in the execution of work - including, but not limited to, attending customer meetings, customer sites, internal project meetings, supplier meetings.
Ensure you meet all the requirements of the H&S and Quality Procedures in the execution of your work.
Keep developing yourself and your skills to ensure your technical skills remain current.
Ensure designs produced comply with all relevant engineering standards.
Review and sign off of site electrical testing documentation. Requirements:

Strong eye for detail and a natural interest in understanding how equipment works

Someone willing to spend time on project sites, client sites, supplier sites as required to ensure we deliver our projects. Qualifications:

Formal Qualification in Electrical Engineering - Preferred Degree, acceptable HND/HNC with suitable relevant design experience.
High competence in Electrical Design engineering, including conducting appropriate calculations, generating specifications, producing CAD drawings using EPlan, developing design concepts, resolving technical design issues. How to apply:
