Randstad Sourceright, a leading provider of RPO & MSP Recruitment Services are currently recruiting for a Workshop Team Leader on behalf of a highly reputable company in the energy industry. This is a 6 month initial contract based at their Aberdeen service centre with potential to be extended further.
The Workshop Team Leader will be responsible for leading a team of workshop employees in executing repair work on rotating machinery and equipment within the Aberdeen Service Centre. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will ensure repairs are completed in line with time, cost, and quality objectives, while maintaining a strong focus on health, safety, and environmental standards within the service centre.
Responsibilities:

Lead a team of workshop employees to produce detailed inspection reports, including findings, recommendations, parts required for rebuilds, and dimensional checks.

Allocate resources efficiently across repair activities to optimise productivity on each project.
*
Minimise non-productive time by reallocating resources to alternative activities, such as field service or training.
*
Coach and manage the performance of workshop employees through regular communication and one-on-one meetings.
*
Ensure compliance with the Service Centre’s Quality Management System.
*
Support employee development and training to ensure skills requirements are met and staff retention is high.
*
Oversee systems for managing time, cost, and quality targets for each repair project.
*
Proactively identify and communicate risks to time, cost, and quality objectives.
*
Ensure workshop tooling, equipment, and machinery are fit for purpose, safe, and available.
*
Collaborate with technical and project management teams to troubleshoot issues and determine root causes of equipment problems.
Key Skills / Experience Required:
*
Proven experience in a supervisory / Team Lead role within a repair service centre or workshop environment.
*
Solid technical knowledge of rotating equipment, hand tools, and measurement tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, etc.).
*
Previous Workshop repair experience
*
Strong leadership and communication skills.
*
Experience in engineering machining activities, including milling, turning, grinding, and drilling.
*
Prior workshop planning experience is preferred.
*
Strong IT proficiency.
*
Flexibility and responsiveness in a dynamic work environment.
*
Knowledge of Quality Management Systems.
*
Familiarity with HR processes and requirements.
