A Year 1 Class Teacher is required for a lovely primary school in Bracknell, Berkshire.

This is a full-time position which involves providing Maternity Leave cover for a Year 1 class from November 2024.

It is anticipated that the Maternity cover will start once the school returns from half term on 5th November, however this could be sooner.

The school is a caring community in which all members are valued and respected.

They are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Teacher that sets high expectations for their pupils and has a proven track record of good teaching. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join a dynamic teaching team.

The school can consider taking someone directly on a maternity contract or alternatively, on a temp to permanent basis.

As the Year 1 Class Teacher, some of your duties will require you to:

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons in accordance with the national curriculum for Year 1.

• Mark and assess pupils’ work and record their development, progress, and attainment.

• Maintain an attractive, creative, and stimulating learning environment.

What you will need to succeed:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

• Experience teaching in a primary school setting, preferably in Key Stage 1.

• Up-to-date knowledge and experience in planning, delivering, and assessing The National Curriculum for Year 1.

• Understanding the principles of child protection in a primary school.

For this role, PPA time is included, and the successful candidate will be working alongside another teacher from the same year group. There is also hands on support from the KS1 Phase Leader.
