About the role: Early Years Teaching Assistant: As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping children develop social skills, confidence, and a love for learning during one of the most important stages of their lives. Your primary responsibility will be to support children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) as they embark on their first steps in formal education. You will work closely with the class teacher to ensure that each child has a positive, enriching experience in the classroom.

You’ll assist with activities that promote the development of essential skills such as communication, motor skills, and early numeracy and literacy. Your day-to-day tasks will be varied, from preparing engaging learning materials and resources to encouraging children’s personal, social, and emotional development. You’ll have the chance to make a real difference in their early experiences, ensuring that every child feels supported and valued.

Application Requirements:

• Passionate about working with children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
• Patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic, with a positive and proactive approach to supporting young learners.
• Experienced in an early years setting, with a good understanding of the EYFS curriculum (preferred but not essential).
• A team player, who can work closely with teachers, parents, and other staff to create a positive learning environment.
• Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, with an up-to-date DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging and age-appropriate learning activities.
• Helping children develop social, communication, and motor skills.
• Encouraging children’s personal, social, and emotional development through creative play.
• Assisting with preparing the learning environment, including setting up activities and resources.
• Supervising children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
