We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and patient Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child in Key Stage 1 (KS1) with severe learning difficulties (SLD). This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about inclusive education and understands the unique needs of children with special educational needs.
About the role
The successful candidate will work closely with a child in KS1 who has SLD, supporting them with daily learning activities, personal development, and social integration. You will work under the guidance of the class teacher and SEND Coordinator to implement tailored learning activities and strategies that meet the child's individual needs, helping them engage with the curriculum at their own pace. This role requires adaptability, creativity, and the ability to foster a nurturing and safe learning environment for the child.

Requirements
To be considered for the role of SEN Teaching Assistant you will:
Have previous experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly in KS1, is highly desirable
Have the ability to manage challenging behaviors and implement effective strategies to support engagement and learning.
Have a patient, empathetic, and resilient approach, with a genuine commitment to supporting children with SLD
Have knowledge of basic learning techniques suitable for children with SLD and willingness to undertake further training
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant certificate, are preferred
