Joining the team you will become a key member of the Logistical Department reporting to the Logistic Team Leader. You will work alongside the management and operatives within the Warehouse and Production facility.

Hours: Monday-Thursday 6am-4pm & Friday's 6am-2pm

Duration: Long term, permanent position

You must have the right to work in the UK. 

Duites include 

Material Handling: Safely and efficiently unload materials from deliveries using a forklift truck.

Container Management: Operate an overhead crane to unload containers and handle goods, ensuring proper safety protocols are followed.

Packing and Preparation: Prepare deliveries for outbound shipment by securely packing goods, labelling packages, and creating accurate delivery notes.

Loading Expertise: Load wagons and trucks with materials and products, utilizing a forklift truck to ensure items are properly secured for transport.

Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records, including tracking incoming and outgoing shipments.

Quality Control: Inspect incoming materials for damage and report any discrepancies or issues to the appropriate personnel.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures while operating machinery and handling materials, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.

Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine checks and basic maintenance on forklift trucks, overhead cranes, and other equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.

Team Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to coordinate and prioritize tasks, ensuring efficient workflow in the yard.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inventory, shipments, and equipment maintenance, and assist in maintaining a well-organized workspace.

Problem Solving: Identify and troubleshoot any issues related to material handling or equipment and report them for timely resolution.

Compliance: Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations at all times.

Customer Service: Provide courteous and professional service when interacting with delivery personnel and other stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement: Suggest and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of yard operations.

Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond calmly and effectively in the event of emergencies or unexpected situations.

Training: Stay updated with training and certifications related to forklift truck and crane operation, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Environmental Responsibility: Support eco-friendly practices in waste disposal and recycling efforts within the yard.

Communication: Maintain open and clear communication with team members and superiors regarding any issues, concerns, or changes in yard operations.

Adaptability: Be flexible and willing to assist in other yard-related tasks and responsibilities as needed.

Customer Focus: Strive to meet or exceed customer expectations by ensuring the timely and accurate handling of materials and deliveries.

Other responsibilities:

Co-operate with management regarding matters of health, safety and welfare.

Take part in training provided by the company.

Flexibility in relation to travel, to support customers and suppliers.

Person specification:

Relevant experience of at least 1 year in a similar role, or a role within facades

Aware of Quality management systems and forms

Implementation of recognized continuous improvement techniques such as 5s, kaizen, lean, 6 sigma

Must represent the best interests of the company at all times in a professional and positive manner.

Must set an example on behavior, attendance, safety, fairness etc.

Must function effectively as a team player with all company personnel, maintaining clear and factual communication at all times.

Must be highly pro-active and have excellent communication skills.

Must demonstrate clear initiative, creativity, and the ability to develop solutions to satisfy customer requirements.

Must be confident in his/her ability to utilize the appropriate techniques to drive improvement within the organization to achieve organizational goals

Experience of working within a manufacturing environment.

Experience of aluminum window, façade design and production would be advantageous.

Proficient in Microsoft Office software, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook a requirement

Ability to work on own initiative.

Willingness to train to required standards included within the role
