Residential Support Worker

Duration: Initially 3 months
Hours: 37 hours a week
Rate: £16.93 umbrella an hour (£14 PAYE an hour)
Location: Exeter

Devon County Council are looking for a Residential Support Worker to join one of their Secure Children's Homes in Exeter.

Responsibilities:

Provide a safe, caring, stimulating and secure environment for children and young people who have experience significant trauma and deemed by the courts to need to be secured
To create an environment within the home that promotes positive respect for children, young people and staff
Encourage and enable children and young people to achieve their maximum potential
Carry out observations and assessments on young people; and provide information to the case coordinator
To take responsibility as the support worker in overseeing the personal care, welfare and health of children and young people
To assist in devising care, education and wellbeing plans

Requirements:

Experience of working with children and young people with challenging behaviours
Knowledge of child development and the impact of trauma
GCSE English (pass)
NVQ 3 relevant qualification
