Job Title: Traffic Signals Operative

Base Location: St Columb ,Cornwall

Salary: Up to £33,655 depending on skills and experience and working hours - plus a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

Working Pattern: Full Time, Monday – Friday 8am-4pm. Overtime there for those who want it. Standby rota and paid call-outs

Enerveo have an extensive street lighting business that manages over 1 million street lights across the UK and Ireland and through design, project management, consultancy, installation, and maintenance we play a major role in reducing energy consumption and carbon footprints helping towns and cities become smarter, greener and more efficient which benefits us all.

The Enerveo Cornwall Depot maintains all Traffic Signals and Information signs throughout the county as well as CCTV , speed cameras , bus information signs , highway pumps and street lighting

Could you be our next Traffic Signals Operative to join the team and drive this success forwards?

What will I be doing in this role?

You will join a small team of operatives who react to traffic signal faults and carryout repairs and maintenance to ensure the Cornwall road network operates safely. The role is open to experienced traffic signal operatives and electricians who may wish to take a change in direction and learn a new role .

In a typical day, you could expect to be;

* Taking part in diagnosing faults, and fixing faulty equipment

* Changing, maintaining and testing of equipment to prevent any future issues

* Ensuring we deliver outstanding service to our clients and the general public

* Using a ladder and harness to safely access traffic signal equipment

* Attending out of hours call-out when on standby to fix faulty equipment

* Attending out of hours planned maintenance on traffic signal equipment

* Working to strict safety guidelines and regulations

What do I need to be successful in the role?

* You will have an electrical or traffic signal background and may have completed AM2, City and Guilds qualifications or equivalents

* We work in all weathers! So you need to be the type of person who is happy working outdoors all year round.

* A lot of this role will be working at height, so you need to be comfortable with working from a ladder.

* We do need you to have a full UK Driving Licence as we cover a wide range of locations

* Commit to joining the standby rota to attend faults out of normal working hours - The rota is one full week in six for 7 days, out of hours . Standby allowance paid as well as attendance hours

Some of our ‘nice to haves’ are;

* Working at heights training

* CSCS Card

* Sector 8 scheme card

We can however support the right candidate to achieve any level of industry training/qualifications they may not have in the ‘nice to have’ list
