CAD Nester / Production Scheduler
Job Description
Reporting to the Operations Systems Manager you will be working within a busy planning team in a steel fabrication company; you will take responsibility for the laser and plasma nesting and scheduling of prefabrication activities to enable the effective planning of sales orders. You will work closely with the production and transport planner.
Duties will include:
* Nesting for an Amada laser cutter
* Nesting for an Esprit plasma cutter
* Scheduling of cutting on the laser and plasma cutter to enable execution of production plan to meet
* customer delivery dates and site installation dates.
* Scheduling of press and saw activities to enable execution of the production plan
* Requisitioning plate material for the laser and plasma cutters
* Progress chasing plate and section material with the buyer, communicating with the planning team
* where there may be delays which will cause a deviation to the production plan.
* Data input of scheduling information into planning systems
* Providing absence cover to the production/transport planner with regard to completing production
* time calculations for the structural, handrail and flooring departments.
* When necessary, providing absence cover to other company sites with regard to nesting for their lasers.
What you need
* Experience of nesting laser cutters with nesting experience of Amada lasers an advantage
* Experience of nesting plasma cutters with nesting experience of Esprit plasmas an advantage
* Experience of production scheduling
* Working knowledge of Radan software an advantage
* Good MS office skills
* Confident in communicating with people at all levels of the organisation
* Self–discipline, good time management skills and the ability to manage several priorities
* Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure
* Ability to use own initiative

Benefits
Salary: Up to £15 per hour (DOE)
Working Hours: 8:30am - 5pm (Mon - Friday)
