About the Role
Syntech Recruitment are working with a client that are seeking a talented and motivated Electronics Engineer to join their Engineering team. This is a dynamic, hands-on role covering the full lifecycle of electronic system design—from initial concept to production. You’ll work on a diverse range of projects, both short- and long-term, with a focus on developing new, innovative products for the education and technology sector.
You will be responsible for designing robust, high-quality electronic systems that support data acquisition and control across our product range. This is a great opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to make a tangible impact through creative and forward-thinking solutions.
Key Responsibilities New Product Development
Design and develop printed circuit boards (PCBs) and embedded firmware
Validate electronic designs through rigorous testing
Integrate electronics with third-party devices such as controllers, sensors, drives, and instrumentation
Support for Existing Products & Production
Resolve component obsolescence issues to maintain product availability
Assist Customer Services with electronics-related queries and troubleshooting
Provide support for end-of-line testing and debugging of products and prototypes
Collaborate with suppliers to ensure component quality and availability
Compliance & Documentation
Ensure designs meet relevant standards, including electrical safety, EMC, RoHS, and REACH
Maintain clear and thorough documentation for all electronic designs and firmware, including updates and revisions
Candidate Requirements Essential
Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
Minimum 5 years' experience in analogue and digital electronics, including low-power design
Proficient in electronic circuit design, schematic capture, and PCB layout
Solid understanding of microcontrollers, ADCs, DACs, and communication protocols (I2C, SPI, USB)
Experience in real-time firmware development (preferably in C++)
Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet project deadlines
Desirable
Familiarity with MRP systems (e.g., AXAPTA, SAP)
Experience with design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for testability (DFT)
