Gardener and Grounds Maintenance Worker

Do you have experience within horticulture and working with maintenance tools, like mowers, trimmers, and hedge cutters? Are you a hard worker with a willingness to learn? Then this might be the role for you!

Our client is looking for a Gardener and Ground Maintenance Worker to join their team full-time and permanently. The successful candidate will support the team with gardening and general maintenance of public spaces.

Travel around the local area is required, so a full, clean driving license is essential.

Responsibilities:

Monitoring plant health
Watering, weeding and feeding plants
Assist with the design and planting schemes
Planting flower beds and handling baskets
Undertake general repairs, cleaning and maintenance of public property
Maintain recreational areas, including cutting and weeding, using appropriate equipment
Check the safety of play and sports equipment
Cover duties of Park Warden during periods of sickness
Assist in the preparation of community eventsSkills & Experience:

Previous horticulture experience is highly desirable
Previous experience in grounds maintenance essentiall
Experience in using general maintenance tools, mowers, strimmers, hedge cutter etc.
Excellent verbal communication abilitiesThis position is working 37 hours per week 5 days over 7 so some occasional weekend working is needed
