Mechanical Design Engineer

Days, Monday to Friday, 8.30am-5pm, with a 2.30pm finish on Fridays

Up to £45k, dependant on experience

Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. They are in a period of growth and are looking for new talent.

As Mechanical Design Engineer you will design fabrications for manufacture, assembly and installations, including conveyor chains, sprockets and sheet metal fabrications, using Inventor/Autocad to produce accurate drawings for manufacture.

Ideal candidates will possess the following:

* Experience of using 3D CAD software. Autodesk Inventor being advantageous, although not essential.

* General knowledge of mechanical handling/ engineering principles.

* Understanding of design for manufacture.

* Metallurgical understanding covering materials and heat treatments.

* Ability to reverse engineer customer samples and/ or data collected from customer sites.

* Experience of using calibrated measuring instruments such as vernier caliper, micrometers etc.

* A background or experience in the materials handling industry is preferable but not essential.

* Knowledge and experience in using 3D scanner is preferable but not essential.

As Mechanical Design Engineer you will work days, Monday to Friday, 8am-5.30pm with a 2.30pm finish on a Friday.

Salary is heavily dependent on experience, however up to £45k + benefits, including 33 days holiday, pension and Sage employee benefits.
